Submit now to The Creative City: Stories in Motion

Our friends in Rome UNESCO City of Film are inviting submissions for their new international short film competition: The Creative City: Stories in Motion

The contest, which has been created to mark Rome’s tenth anniversary as a City of Film, is now open for entries from filmmakers, professionals and visual artists.

Entry is free, and short films are being invited that explore the theme of “The Creative City”: how creativity is expressed within cities, and how it affects the lives of those who inhabit them?

Films must not exceed a maximum of 15 minutes in length and should be submitted before Thursday 30th October 2025 (no later than 5:00 PM CET time).

All submitted short films will be evaluated by a selection committee composed of three experts appointed by the promoter.

The best short film will receive a prize of €1,000 and will be presented and screened during the tenth edition of Cinedays, an international conference organized annually in collaboration with the UNESCO Creative Cities, which will take place at the Casa del Cinema in Rome in December 2025 (exact date TBC).

The Creative City: Stories in Motion is promoted by Fondazione Cinema per Roma as part of the activities of Rome UNESCO City of Film. To enter, visit the competition webpage or for more information, contact:
